Lippe Gabrielsplas
Last night we camped at lake Lippe Gabrielsplas near Drachten. Here they installed a solar park on the lake with 25,000 solar panels. This way they generate enough energy for 4,000 homes and create a unique nature park at the same time.
Healthy environment
The aim was to ensure that sufficient light and air can reach the water. For this, the system uses panels that allow light to pass through and wide skylights. The panels are mounted low to the water so that the other bank is still visible. They are anchored to the bottom, so no anchors need to be attached to the shore.
In addition, two small fruit orchards have been planted next to the lake. On the eastern bank of the lake, fenders have been installed for the fish and amphibians. The area has also become more enjoyable for holidaymakers, like us…
